Quality without compromise, always something different
Fruit Trees and Soft Fruits
These days, you will RARELY find a home garden without at least 1 or 2 edible plants in the Landscape. As we all become more and more aware of where our Fruit is coming from, the lure to 'Grow your own' is definitely on the rise ! Quality and freshness are 2 of the reasons our customers give us for wanting to grown their Fruit trees and Berries. Interest in Organic practices as well as awareness of 'food miles' also rate highly.
If you are lucky enough to have a large back yard your choices are vast, and you can quite easily fit in a few fruit trees, a vine or two AND a row of fruit bearing bushes (nothing like an edible hedge, ie: Feijoas ) to give privacy and fruit production at the same time ! If you only have a small backyard, a Courtyard, or just a Balcony/Terrace, the selection is still enticing. These days you will be spoilt for choice as you can pick from a GREAT range of Mini, Dwarf, and Columnar Trees from our deciduous range (Cherries, Peaches, Apples, Plums, Nectarines, Pears etc), perfectly suited to container growing. We also specialise in the largest range of HERITAGE FRUIT TREES in Canberra....these stalwarts have stood the test of time (many for over a Century), owing to their fine quality and flavour .
If it's Citrus you are after, they too are now being offered in a range of Dwarf forms, just perfect for a large tub on the Balcony or Terrace. All of these trees will produce FULL SIZED fruit on manageable trees suited to Suburban AND City living. And... lets not forget the exciting range of Finger Limes now available for the gourmet in the family !!
Soft Fruits, such as Grapes, KIwi Fruit (Chinese Gooseberries) , Feijoas (Acca), Currants, Passionfruit etc.are among the other terrific options for the Home Garden.. they are usually VERY quick to bear, and produce in abundance. By planting Grapes and Kiwis you not only will be reaping the rewards of tasty and nutritious fruit, but you will be adding some height and interest to the landscape. With the right planning, a beautiful structure can become a focal point in your backyard and provide a shady nook for afternoon relaxation.
